Acorn Capital is a Melbourne based boutique investment manager which was established in 1998. We were the first investment manager to exclusively target the microcap sector on the Australian Securities Exchange ('ASX'). We define the public or listed microcap sector as those listed public companies that have market capitalisations less than the 250th largest company on the ASX. Acorn Capital's research driven investment process has been designed to take advantage of inefficiencies that can exist in the microcap sector arising from poor information flows and the lack of liquidity. In contrast to the largest companies listed on the ASX, where there is a wealth of research and information, there is a relative lack of information on microcaps. It is this information asymmetry which Acorn Capital has successfully and consistently targeted over the years.
Acorn Capital is the largest specialist microcap investor in the Australian market and has recently expanded the investment domain to include unlisted as well as listed microcap companies.
